As a lifelong fan of James Dean I was thrilled to be handed the dream assignment of creating original artwork along with a large back lighted sign to be featured in Dean’s hometown of Fairmount, Indiana for Jerry Traub’s magnificent Rebel Lodge located on historic 110 East Washington Street.                  The Lodge is situated just steps away from where the iconic Sanford Roth Life Magazine photograph of Jimmy was taken during his final visit home in 1955.  James Dean was on the cusp of achieving major film stardom with the release of East Of Eden.                                           I grew up often looking at this picture and never dreamt or fathomed that my own art would one day be located in the same spot. From the start, my intention was to create something that would have pleased Jimmy personally if he were to ever walk down his beloved hometown street again. I placed a tremendous amount of love and honor into this project.
